Art Oranje Art Fair, 6 & 7 juni 2026. Groningen, The Netherlands
Art Oranje in Groningen was a new art fair, opened by Splinter Chabot. During two enjoyable days, I had many inspiring conversations with art lovers, collectors and fellow artists.
A comment I heard repeatedly was that my work stood out from the rest of the exhibition. Visitors were drawn to the presentation, but especially to the originality of the pieces. Many people said they had not seen anything quite like it at the fair.
One of the most common questions was whether I make everything myself. I do. Every piece is entirely handmade by me, including my sculptural boxes. The only parts I do not make are the hinges. This hands-on approach ensures that every artwork is truly handmade unique art, created with great care and attention to detail.
I received many compliments, had interesting conversations about my work and was pleased to sell several pieces during the event. The excellent coffee was an added bonus.
Together with my partner, Paul Driessen, I look back on Art Oranje as a very successful and enjoyable experience. It was a wonderful opportunity to share my collection of handmade unique art and sculptural boxes with a wider audience.

Houtfort 18 & 19 oktober 2025, at Fort bij Vechten, The Netherlands
Where craftsmanship, art and skill come together.
Houtfort brought together 37 exhibitors at Fort bij Vechten, filling the historic location with craftsmanship, creativity, and passion. From furniture makers and woodturners to sculptors and artists who create their own paper, the diversity showcased the richness and versatility of the craft. Live demonstrations by skilled artisans gave visitors not only the opportunity to admire unique creations, but also an inspiring glimpse behind the scenes.
Together, these exhibitors created an impressive and atmospheric presentation of the very best the world of woodworking has to offer.
From traditional craftsmanship to innovative wood art, the event brings to life a craft that deserves to be passed on to future generations. It highlights the importance of allowing both young and old to continue seeing, feeling, and experiencing what can be created with wood. This is made possible by dedicated makers.
Houtfort is known for its warm and welcoming atmosphere. During the weekend, visitors connect not only with exhibitors, but also with like minded creators who share the same passion. It is a place to inspire one another, discover new techniques, exchange tips and tricks, and elevate each other’s work to a higher level.
